It's easy to assume we know what people mean.

We base it on what makes sense to us.

That's why there's so much miscommunication.

Especially when someone asks you how you do something that comes naturally to you. It can feel too obvious to explain.

Like: How do you come up with so many ideas?

Answer: How do I not??

Clarifying questions help us bridge the gap.

City Hopping Sales...

I do one particular thing every place I go.

I join communities and I host community events.

Naturally, I'm a self-starter but it turns out I prefer supporting and joining forces. If something doesn't exist I'll start it, but usually, there's a community I can join.

So everywhere I go I'm part of communities. Here are a few of my favorites:

This year I started off in Mexico City

  • I co-hosted an event called Crew to help freelancers work with others
  • I spoke at AI amped event and joined their community
  • I hosted the Visionary event

Then NYC

  • I joined Founders Boost Accelerator
  • I spoke for SOSA's cohorts as a marketing mentor
  • I co-hosted a weekly Clown Workshop
  • I co-hosted Tech Walk
  • I joined The Breakfast Club

Then London

  • I attended the Because Of Marketing Event
  • I co-hosted The Breakfast Club

Then Edinburgh

  • I co-hosted The Breakfast Club

Back to London

  • I joined the Revenue Marketing Alliance Slack group and ended up creating video content with them
  • Attending another version of The Breakfast Club and will likely collab with that group

How do I travel like this?

Financially:

Savings from the sale of my Cape Town Apartment, Software Sales , and support from my sister.

Logistically:

Apartment share in NYC and Mexico City, Sister's home in London, Family in SA and AirBnB.

Legally:

โ€‹Green Card for exceptional abilityโ€‹

Emotionally:

I've been sober for almost 7 years so I take life one day at a time, have faith in a higher power, and belong to communities of people who support me.

Something Else:

I hit the ground running: find communities and plan events immediately as I land!

Selling Everywhere

Aside from selling to and through communities online and IRL, what works best for me is Magnetic Attraction through content, and creative strategies AND mindset shifts around marketing and business. Doing it differently to the status quo.
