I love a good sale. And this sale was a good one.

Workout sets in neutral tones.

Buttery soft fabric.

Quality crop tops and skin-tight leggings.

I took my selection to the counter.

"Get the other two" he suggested.

"Should I? I don't know..." It felt indulgent. Did I need all three?

He encouraged me, saying everything I was thinking: about the sets' quality, look and feel, the sale...

"I'll do it!" I said, scooping up all three sets in black, pink, and cream.

"Well done!"

We both smiled proudly. Good choice.

I don't know if he worked on commission or not. His encouragement felt genuine. Like he knew this was the best call.

I paid and then I tipped him in cash.

"This is for you. Thanks for encouraging me."

People want to buy,

but people don't want to be sold to.

โ€‹

Never push a sale. But when you can see that someone wants something, encouraging them to follow their heart is an act of kindness.

If you're unsure how they truly feel, tell them to take some time and think about it.

In this case, he read my number, and it was spot on.

It's not about the price

Matching something you sell with someone who wants it is a win-win. You're both happy. Money is the tool of exchange that makes it possible.

Money is the simplest way to make the swap.

It's not just about the price.

I was happy to pay X3 than I'd planned AND tip him because I got more than I bargained for and the experience was such fun. Like a mid-week mini-Christmas!

Next time someone is deciding what they want, show them more, not less. Say: "How about this AND..."
